Sanford J. Stormes, Jr., 72 of Pattonville, Texas passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2026.
A memorial service will be held on June 8, 2026 at 3:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Bovina with Randy Jones officiating. Burial of ashes will follow at Bovina Cemetery. Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
He was born in Pittsburg, California on January 13, 1954. He was the son of Sanford J. Sr. and Grace Ann Stormes. He was of the Non-denominational faith. Sanford loved to hunt, fish and spend time outdoors. He was a member of the Bovina VFD and selflessly spent many hours as a leader for the 4-H program and coached baseball. He enjoyed watching TV and eating Little Debbie Snack Cakes. The family jokes and says that Little Debbie Corporation may have to close the doors due to the loss of sales since his passing.
He is survived by his children, Andy Stormes and wife Lori. Wayne Stormes and girlfriend Crystal, Darla Mullens and husband Ken, Tammy Broun and husband Greg; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, John Lewis Stormes.
