Providence Baptist Church will start viewing the series “The Chosen” on Sunday nights starting July 11, and Pastor Allan Hubbard invites anyone to attend.
“I’m hypercritical of ‘Christian movies’ and, to be honest, many of them are sub-par when it comes to overall film making and the scripts can be very formulaic,” Hubbard said. “This series, however, is very well made, follows scripture very closely and only takes liberties in between the lines in acceptable ways. Not to mention the message is very clear, which is super important when it comes to Bible-based visual accounts.”
Each Sunday at 5:30 p.m., the church will show a new episode, and Providence Baptist Church is just three miles from Loop 286 on FM 195 in Paris at 4680 FM 195, Paris.
“We decided to screen the series together at Providence because we like to vary our Sunday night studies and this will be a terrific summer viewing opportunity,” Hubbard said.
