Retired teacher and former coach Sheila Daughtrey took time this week to read to Hannah Sartor’s kindergarten class at Higgins Elementary.
Daughtrey, a member of the Lamar-Delta Retired Teachers and School Employees Association and current member of the North Lamar ISD School Board, read The Tiny Seed by Eric Carle to the class.
Then on behalf of the retired teachers, she presented a book to the class and one to every student.
