Reno City Mayor, Bart Jetton, has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, stemming from an Oct. 27 family disturbance at his Reno home.
Law enforcement, including Reno Police and Lamar County Sheriff’s Office, responded to a report of a family disturbance at the home of Mayor Bart Jetton in Reno, Texas, on Oct. 28, 2021.
The situation was resolved – that day – by an agreed temporary separation of the parties involved. The parties voluntarily, according to the city of Reno City Secretary, separated, and law enforcement left the scene. The follow-up liminal investigation of the matter was turned over to the Texas Rangers.
The investigation was the reasonability of the Texas Rangers. The decision to file charges was made by the Lamar County Attorney.
“Moving forward, we will continue to serve the citizens of Reno and hope for the best possible solution in this matter,” said Reno City Secretary Tricia Smith.
