Paris Regional Medical Center on Monday received a small shipment of 200 dosages of the Moderna vaccine meant to be used as first round vaccinations for those who have not yet received them.
“These will first be made available to our team members and medical staff,” said the hospital. “Should we have dosages left after the offer has been made to our team, we will then open up our clinic to our community healthcare partners, then community members in the 1b category.”
The City of Paris and Lamar County Emergency Services have offered logistical support to assist local providers/pharmacies in vaccinating the public according to the Vaccine Allocation Guiding Principles in Phase 1A and Phase 1B tiers.
Those participating locally to date are Paris Regional Medical Center, Paris-Lamar County Health Department, Kroger Pharmacy, Brookshire’s Pharmacy and Walgreens’ Pharmacy.
The Texas Department of Health and Human Services makes determinations each week which entity will receive vaccines and the quantity. It is not known how many we will receive locally until notified each week by DSHS (1/10-1/16 Week 5 List).
“We will update this information weekly as the distribution list is published,” the city said. “Please note that you will only be able to schedule a vaccination through one of the providers above.”
