Paris police responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 2100 block of E Price St at 8:47 p.m. on Saturday, Apr. 25, when the driver of a red Suzuki motorcycle lost control and crashed. The 39-year old driver was not wearing a helmet and was taken to PRMC due to severe trauma. The driver was later flown to Medical City Plano for further medical attention. The report indicates that alcohol was a contributing factor in the cause of the accident.
Then on Sunday, Apr. 26 at 1:27 a.m., Paris police responded to a disturbance in the 300 block of Stone Ave. It was reported that a 22-year old male had strangled the 21-year old female victim during an argument. The male suspect fled the scene before officers arrived. The victim did not seek medical treatment. Police are continuing the investigation of the incident.
Paris police responded to a burglary of a business that was in progress in the 3600 block of Lamar Ave at 3:27 a.m. Sunday. The caller advised that a male was attempting to pry the front doors open. Officers located 34-year old Robert Derrel Coulter, Jr. of Deport, Texas at the front door of the business. Coulter was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and was arrested. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance and later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
