Pauline Perry, 79, passed away Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018. Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled funeral services for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10th at the Charleston United Methodist Church with Rev. Lynn Phillips officiating. Burial will be made in Lake Creek Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church thirty minutes prior to the service.

Pauline, the daughter of Joseph Edgar Perry and Helen Gould Perry, was born on December 22, 1938, in Lubbock, Texas. Pauline was valedictorian of her high school class at East Delta High School and was graduated with honors from A&M University at Commerce, Texas. She pursued her graduate studies at North Texas State University, interrupting them to take a position as Professor of English at Western Oklahoma State College, where she taught for thirty years, retiring in 2003. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Helen Perry; and her sisters, Barbara Anne and Sandra Kay Shourie. She is survived by her twin sister, Christine Pickering Ford; her nephew, Paul David Pickering; and nieces, Sarah Grace Pickering and Avery Anne Pickering. Pauline (AKA Polly) will be best remembered in Delta County as “one of the Perry Twins,” who rode twin, white horses in the local rodeos.
