Wilbur Walter Saufferer, 86, of Paris, TX passed away Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018, at his home.

The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10th at Bright-Holland Funeral Home, Paris, TX. Graveside services will be held
at a later date at Meadow Ridge Memorial Cemetery in Faribault, MN.

Wilbur was born to Walter J. Saufferer and Emily Lips Saufferer on January 29, 1932, in Rice County, Faribault, MN. He graduated from Faribault High School in Faribault. He farmed all his life, except while he was in the military in Germany. Wilbur farmed in Rice County until 1980, when the family moved to Paris, TX, and he farmed in the Cunningham Community.

He married Elaine Anderson on June 20, 1959. He and his wife were Charter Members of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Faribault, MN. Survivors include his wife, Elaine, two sons, Keith and wife Karen of Paris, TX and Todd and wife Shelley of St. Charles, MO, two stepgranddaughters, Whitney Hopper of Dallas, TX and Courtney Hopper of Paris, TX, a step-grandson, Charley Fuller of Bloomington, IN, a great grandson, Elijah, a brother, Warren Saufferer and wife Arlene of Phoenix, AZ, a sister-in-law, Barbara Anderson of Faribault, MN and a
brother-in-law, Roy Janousek of Kenyon, MN.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Marguerite Mahoney and husband Robert Mahoney, two sisters-in-law, Audrey Saufferer and Yvonne Janousek and a brother-in-law, Leon Anderson.
