Thursday, September 5 at 7:34am; a victim in the 1400 block of NE 26th Street stated to a Paris Officer that he believes that his black Taurus G2C handgun with a GmConn light-laser was stolen from his residence last week, but he just noticed it missing today. No forced entry into the residence could be located. A State Jail Felony-Theft of a Firearm report was taken and the handgun, valued at $200 was entered into NCIC-TCIC.
Thursday, September 5 at 2:47pm; an enhanced to State Jail Felony-Theft of Property <$2500 w/ two or more convictions report was taken in the 3800 block of Lamar Avenue after a 62-Year-Old female rolled a buggy full of food and clothing items and a tabletop scarecrow, totaling $121.77, out of the store without paying. The items were recovered. The female was not arrested due to medical concerns. The case will be presented to the District Attorney’s Office for a warrant.
Thursday, September 5 at 3:32pm; a Paris Detective and a Paris Patrol Officer went to the 1200 block of SW 19th Street and placed 36-Year-Old Benjamin James Hensley under arrest on a 2nd Degree Felony-Indecency W/Child Sexual Contact Warrant, resulting from an investigation of an incident reported, last month, in August. Hensley was booked into the Paris Jail.
Thursday, September 5 at 4:27pm; a victim met with a Community Service Officer in the PD lobby to report Credit Card or Debit Card Abuse. The victim had apparently dropped her debit card in area of the 3500 block of Lamar Avenue and had begun receiving text alert from her bank advising her of a successful $41 transaction at Murphy USA. A $313.93 transaction had been attempted at Hibbett Sports but was denied. The incident will be further investigated.
Thursday, September 5 at 6:15pm; a Paris Officer was dispatched to a Burglary of a Residence at 394 County Road 33900 and made contact with the victim, who stated that someone had broken into his residence and had stolen his $200 46” Sanyo Television and two black semi-auto paintball guns, valued at $120 each. Entry into the residence was possibly gained through a kitchen window. Fingerprints were lifted and placed into evidence.
Thursday, September 5 at 9:16pm; as a Paris Officer was patrolling in the 1000 block of East Washington Street, he observed a male subject walking in a highly drug-trafficked area and initiated a consensual encounter. The subject identified himself as 41-Year-Old Carl Daniel White. White advised the officer that he had a loaded methamphetamine syringe in his pants pocket. The officer secured the syringe and placed White under arrest for State Jail Felony-Possession of a Controlled Substance-Meth and booked him into the Paris Jail.
Thursday, September 5, 2024; Paris Police Department responded to 74 Calls for Service, made 4 Adult Arrest and Initiated 5 Traffic Stops.
