On Oct. 26, Officers made contact with Reginald Keith Alexander (55) in the 2000 block of E. Cherry St. Alexander advised officers that he had an outstanding warrant for Parole Violation. Alexander also had two municipal warrants. He was arrested without incident.
On Oct. 27, Officers were summoned to the Parole Office in the 3900 block of N. Main St in regards to a Parole Warrant. They arrived and took custody of DaVanna Star Hunter (28), of Arthur City, on a Parole Violation Warrant as well as a Zavala County Warrant for Delivery of a Controlled Substance over 4 grams. Hunter was processed without incident.
On Oct. 27, Paris Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to the 10 block of NW 23rd St in reference to a fire. Callers had been vague as to what was going on and then hung up on the 911 dispatcher. Upon arrival the officer found a dumpster behind an apartment complex there to be on fire. Several subjects were in the area but left the scene as the officer arrived. One subject, Curtazia Frankie Webster (17) remained at the scene, “Fanning the flames” until contacted by the responding officer. The officer spoke with Webster and detained her in handcuffs due to her attempting to leave the scene. The fire department arrived and extinguished the flames. From speaking with witnesses, it was determined that Webster was attempting to burn clothing belonging to a boyfriend when she caught the dumpster on fire. Webster also admitted to possession of Marijuana in her pants. She was arrested and charged with Arson and a misdemeanor marijuana violation. She was booked without incident.
On Oct. 27, a victim advised officers that he had paid a contractor $4200.00 to install a HVAC unit in their residence. The known contractor never performed the work and refuses to return the customer’s money. The case will be referred to the Lamar County Attorney for prosecution.
On Oct. 27, The department was notified of an incident in which a known suspect took video from a 37 year old male victim’s phone and copied it. The suspect did not have permission to access the video nor did they have permission to copy it. The suspect then posted the video, containing sexual situations, to social media and “Tagged” the victim. The suspect then took a copy of the video to the victim’s place of employment and presented it to the employer, resulting in the victim’s being terminated due to the victim wearing a company shirt with the company’s logo during the filmed incident. Evidence including text messages between the victim and the suspect were collected and the case is under investigation.
Officers made 18 traffic stops, 4 adult arrest, and answered 97 calls for service during this reporting period.
