Tuesday, October 1, 2024; Paris Officers were dispatched to a fight in the 2200 block Lamar Avenue. The made contact with David Earl Anderson (27), who was hyper aggressive and refused to calm down when requested by officers. He was detained for the safety of all until a resolution could be reached. A warrant check revealed that Anderson had outstanding warrants for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Burglary of a Habitation. These were a product of an incident occurring on September 20, 2024 in the 600 block of SE 9th, when Anderson and other suspects entered a residence without permission and assaulted the resident. They later exchanged gunfire with the resident. Anderson was processed without incident.
Tuesday, October 1, 2024; Okoyus Stepphon Woods (38) was stopped for an expired registration in the 2100 block of Lamar Avenue. Woods was observed to be in possession of marijuana. A subsequent search of his vehicle revealed that Woods was in possession of cocaine. Woods was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. He was processed without incident.
Officers made 13 traffic stops, 3 adult arrest, and answered 105 calls for service for this reporting period.
