Paris Police responded to a burglary of a vehicle in the 700 block of Church St at 6:54 A.M. on November 4, 2022. The victim reported that someone had entered their unlocked vehicle and had stolen a handgun. The victim also reported that someone had stolen their RING doorbell from the garage. The doorbell was later found in the backyard of a neighboring house. The incident is under investigation.
Paris Police also responded to a burglary of a vehicle in the 2600 block of Hubbard St at 7:40 A.M. on November 4, 2022. The victim reported that someone had entered their unlocked vehicle and had stolen a handgun. The investigation continues.
Paris Police responded to an aggravated assault in the 1300 block of Pine Bluff St at 11:50 A.M. on November 5, 2022. A 34 year old male reported that a 59 year old male had struck him in the arm with a baseball bat during an argument. The victim did not have any noticeable injuries and did not seek medical treatment. The incident is under investigation.
Paris Police responded to a criminal trespass in the 3000 block of NE Loop 286 at 1:20 A.M. on November 6, 2022. The suspect refused to leave the property when told to do so. Sergio Zavala, 54, of Detroit, Texas, was found to have an outstanding Red River County felony probation violation warrant on an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon conviction. Zavala was arrested and later placed in the Lamar County Jail.
At 8:03 P.M. on November 6, 2022, Paris Police responded to a shots fired call in the 1400 block of Fitzhugh Ave. Upon arrival in the area, officers could hear females screaming from a residence. Officers found a 15 year old male that had a gunshot wound to his chest. The investigation lead officers to believe that the shots were fired from outside the residence and penetrated through a window. The victim was transported to PRMC where he was later flown to a Dallas area hospital for treatment. The investigation continues.
