On May 23, Paris Police received a report of unauthorized use of a vehicle in the 1200 block 20th NE. Victim reported her vehicle taken overnight. The vehicle was later recovered in the 800 block S. Main Street. Investigation is continuing into this incident.
On May 25, Paris Police responded to a call of man with gun in 1900 block W. Kaufman. Upon arrival the officer observed a male and female struggling with another male. Officers were able to determine during investigation that an altercation took place with a handgun involved. Stephen Easter was arrested on scene for Aggravated Assault w/Deadly Weapon and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by Felon.
On May 25, Paris Police received report of a Toyota vehicle driving erratically in 3200 block FM 195. The vehicle was located in 2900 block N. Main. The vehicle stopped in 2800 block N. Main. The driver, identified as Shelton Oringderff, was determined by officer to be intoxicated. Oringderff was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. Oringderff was found to have three or more convictions of Driving While Intoxicated, elevating the charge to a felony.
On May 25, Paris Police responded to an auto accident in 3500 block Lamar Ave. During the investigation, Mario Garcia was arrested on a warrant from Vernon Police Department for Driving While Intoxicated 3rd or more, a felony.
On May 26, Paris Police received a report of a shoplifter at 3855 Lamar. Sarah Cervantes was detained by employees and placed under arrest by Paris Police. Cervantes Theft charge was enhanced to a felony due to two or more previous convictions.
Paris Police made a total of eleven (11) arrests, seventy-two (72) traffic stops and responded to two hundred sixty-four (264) calls for service
