Robert “David” Morton, 72, of Cunningham, left his family and friends on earth to join his family and friends on the other side on Sunday, May 25, 2025. David was born on Jan. 4, 1953, in Hillsboro, TX, and moved to Sherman with his family in 1954. David grew up and graduated high school in Sherman, then he attended Grayson County College. He was employed at Denison Industries, Inc., and retired after 33 years of service.
He moved to Cunningham in 2015, built a new house and made Cunningham his home the past ten plus years to be closer to his son.
He went to work with Shane at his NAPA stores until retiring in 2019. After a short retirement, he decided he was bored and went back to work for Shane placing orders for all three parts stores. He continued to order parts up until recently when his health started declining.
He is survived by his son Shane Morton and wife Zarinska of Cunningham, a sister, Pam Green of Sherman along with a plethora of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louie Robert Morton and Dorothy Jean Morton.
We want to thank the Chambers Home Health and Hospice staff for the excellent care they gave David over the past month.
Casket bearers will be: Jerry Shaw, Jim “Fred” Fielding, Larry Rodriquez, Stacy Musgrove, Jamie Wood, and Randall Wright. Honorary bearers will be: Wayland Van Cleeve and Jerry Henderson.
