Friday, June 3, 2022 at 1:12 pm: Officer was dispatched to the 2800 block of Kessler Drive in reference to a fraud. The complainant advised that someone had opened up a credit card in her name and was making purchases on it. Paris Police will be reviewing the store camera footage to investigate the purchase that was made in the 2000 block of Spur 139, using a Master Card.
Friday, June 3, 2022 at 1:58 pm: Officers were dispatched to the 2600 block of North Main Street in reference to shots fired in the area and that someone was possibly shot. One witness stated that a verbal argument occurred; one subject produced a semi-automatic pistol and shot at another subject’s feet and that that subject picked up a pole stick from the ground and hit the shooter in the head causing a laceration. Police are making a thorough investigating into the incident.
Friday, June 3, 2022 at 2:50 pm: Several officers were dispatched to assist with a shots fired call in the 2600 block of North Main Street. During the investigation, Tara Dawn George was determined to have two outstanding Class “C” warrants out of Paris Municipal Court. When searched at the Paris Police Jail, a small baggie containing a clear crystal like substance, testing positive for methamphetamine was located in George’s front pants pocket; additionally charging George with Prohibited Substance /Item in Correction Facility.
Friday, June 3, 2022 at 3:33 pm: Officer was dispatched to a Fight in Progress in the 1500 block of East Houston Street. Subjects advised they were fighting over money/hair. One victim is reporting to have been hit by a vehicle, driven by offender leaving the scene. Very minor injuries are being reported. The incident is under investigate
Friday, June 3, 2022 at 3:45 pm: Officer was dispatched to the 900 of South Main Street in reference to a terroristic threat. It was determined that the complainant wanted her ex-boyfriend trespassed from her apartment. Officer arrested Richard Lee Dodd in the 1700 block of Clarksville Street on a Parole Violation Warrant. A small amount of a white crystal like substance in a clear plastic baggie was located in Dodd’s pocket. The substance tested positive for methamphetamine, leading to a second charge of Possession Controlled Substance less than 1 gram. Dodd was booked into the Paris Police Jail and later transferred to the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office.
Friday, June 3, 2022 at 3:45 pm: Officers was dispatched to the 3200 block of the Trail De Paris in reference to a male subject being on the trail, and possibly being under the influence of narcotics. Contact was made with Robert Scott Sillivan, who advised officers that he was just taking a break. Sillivan appeared to move slow and possibly be under the influence of either drugs or alcohol. A medium sized plastic baggie containing a fairly large amount of a crystal like substance, testing positive for methamphetamine was located in Sillivan’s right front pocket. The amount appeared to be more than what an average person would have on them for normal consumption; weighing 5.2 grams, charging Sillivan with Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance.
Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 9:22 am: Officer was dispatched to a Burglary of a Building in the 600 block of NE 7th Street. Complainant advised that his weed eater was stolen from an unlocked garage in the 600 block of NE 3rd Street. Subject advised that he also had a blower stolen from the same garage a while back. The item was entered as stolen by its serial number into the state computer.
Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 2:28 pm: Officers were dispatched to a disturbance in the 700 block of SE 3rd Street. Victim stated that her husband had choked her, pushed her head into the kitchen cabinets several times and left the scene in a white truck. The incident is being investigated.
Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 3:07 pm: Officer responded to a burglary of a motor vehicle in the 400 Block of NE 24th Street. Victim believes that his vehicle may have been left unlocked when suspect entered and stole his Ruger 57.
Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 3:07 pm: Officers were dispatched to a burglary of a motor vehicle in the 3600 block of Brownwood Drive. The victim was not sure when suspect entered her vehicle and stole her Springfield Armory Hellcat 9mm pistol from her center console.
Sunday, June 5, 2022 at 4:52 am: Officer was dispatched to the 2500 block of North Main Street for a warrant arrest. Kenneth Ray Sims was taken into custody for Motion to Revoke Parole Violation Warrant issued by the Austin Parole Division. Sims transported to the Paris Police Jail and booked.
Sunday, June 5, 2022 at 10:33 am: While Officer was patrolling through the Walmart parking lot; he observed a white male (later identified as David Ross Brooks) pushing out a brand new bike. Behind Brooks was a Walmart employee waving officer down and pointing at Brooks. Brooks had stolen the bicycle. Brooks fail to stop and began peddling faster; after officer had activated his emergency lights and sirens. Brooks traveled through the parking lot of Walmart, Chisum Shopping center, under the loop on Lamar Ave, and across NE 35th onto Robin St, where officer gave a foot chase and was able to apprehend Brooks and take him into custody. Brooks was charged and booked into the Paris Police Jail for Evading Arrest/Detention With Priors Conviction and Theft $100 < $750.00.
Sunday, June 5, 2022 at 8:33 pm: Officer was dispatched to the 3200 block of Allen Street in reference to a burglary of a motor vehicle. Victim advised that earlier in the morning, prior to going to church, he attempted to enter into his rental vehicle without success. He contacted a wrecker service to open the locked door. After gaining entry into the vehicle, he was unable to locate his Smith & Wesson .357 that was kept in the center console.
