On Jan. 23 at 6:58 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 3800 block of Lamar Avenue in regards to a theft. Officers were advised by employees that Cherry Rae King (43) had passed through the self-checkout and had intentionally skipped scanning several items of clothing totaling over 87.00. King was arrested for the theft. A warrant check revealed that King also had 9 outstanding traffic related warrants and had been previously arrested for theft. The theft charge was enhanced due to the habitual finding. King was charged with the warrants as well.
Officers made 10 traffic stops, no adult arrest, and answered 79 calls for service on for this reporting period January 23, 2024
