On Feb. 24, Officers arrested Kameron Blake Avery 27 after responding to a disturbance call at a local club in the 3500 block of NE Loop 286. Responding officer observed Avery attempting to assault another individual. Upon the officer announcing his presence, Avery fled on foot. He was pursued and captured behind the club. After a brief struggle with Avery, he was taken into custody and charged with Evading Arrest or Detention and Disorderly Conduct (Fighting in Public).
On Feb. 23, Matthew David Bryan (46) was arrested at the Probation Office for a Motion to Revoke his Probation on a warrant for Debit Card Abuse (Elderly).
On Feb. 25, Denetra Nicole Edwards (41) was arrested after officers responded to an assault in progress in the 1900 block of E. Booth. Edwards was found to be intoxicated on the porch. Edwards had been involved in a disturbance with a live in partner at the residence and had struck the victim in the head with a bottle, cutting the victim’s head. She was arrested for Aggravated Assault of a Family Member as well as on a Misdemeanor warrant for Fighting in Public.
On Feb. 24, Officers responded to shoplifters at Wal-Mart. They arrested Kobee Allen Lewis (19) as well as a juvenile for Theft over 100.00 but less than 750.00. Each of the subjects had stolen property from the store in excess of the amounts listed. The juvenile was released to his family and Lewis was booked and taken to Lamar County Jail.
On Feb. 25, Officers arrested Kenneth Wayne Mallory (74) on a warrant for Fail to Comply as a Sex Offender Duty to Register. Mallory was arrested without incident and transported to Lamar County Jail after booking.
On Feb. 26, the Paris Police Department received a tip that Jessica Ann McMellon (39) was at a location in the 1800 block of Polk and that she had outstanding Felony Warrants. A Check revealed that McMellon was wanted for Possession of Controlled Substance. An officer responded, made contact with McMellon and placed her under arrest on the warrant. She was booked without incident.
On Feb. 25, while patrolling the 1100 block of 15th NW, an officer observed Baylor Necole Meeks (23) whom he recognized. The officer was aware that Meeks was being sought for an outstanding warrant for Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance. He made contact with Meeks, confirmed the warrant, and arrested her without incident.
On Feb. 25, an officer observed a vehicle going the wrong way on the service road in the 2500 block of NE Loop 286. He stopped the vehicle in the 1800 block of Martin Luther King Drive. He made contact with Gracie Ann Miles (64) who was found to be intoxicated. Miles had prescription drugs in her possession which she could not show were prescribed to her. She was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and Possession of a Dangerous Drug.
On Feb. 24, Officers received a report in the 200 block of SE 13th of an assault which had occurred in the 600 block of 7th NW. Victim advised that a known suspect had struck her in the face with his fist, and then had dragged her with his vehicle. The victim is in a relationship with the offender. An investigation is ongoing.
Officers made 30 traffic stops, 15 adult arrest, and answered 267calls for service on for this reporting period.
