Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at 5:06pm: Paris Police Officer arrested 36-year-old Rickey Donnell Kennybrew of Idabel Oklahoma for Felony-Possession of a Controlled Substance and Class A-Theft of Property. No mugshot or details are available. UPDATE: Officers were dispatched to a bank in the 2800 block of Lamar Avenue, wherein Kennybrew was attempting to open an account with a fraudulent check written for $1,500. The bank was aware of the name on the check from previous incidents. Suspects would deposit a check; later return to make a withdrawal before the bank determined the check as a forgery. Three small plastic baggies containing cocaine were found in Kennybrew wallet during booking.
Thursday, December 22, 2022 at 8:03am: Paris Police Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of East Houston Street in reference to a possible Burglary of a Motor Vehicle. Complainant stated a male was walking back and forth in front of their residence and was now asleep in a vehicle on the property. Officer awoke Homeless 21-year-old James Carlos Urena from his sleep, who stated he has been walking around looking for a warm place to sleep. Urena was placed under arrest and booked into the Paris Jail for On View-Criminal Trespass; two outstanding Paris Police “Class C” Possession Drug Paraphernalia warrants and one Paris Police Felony Warrant for Burglary of a Habitation, wherein Urena has been an accomplice in taken a generator from inside an enclosed garage last month.
Thursday, December 22, 2022 at 9:13pm: Paris Police Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of Hearon Street in reference to a Burglary. Owner advised she came by to check on an uninhabited house and found it to be burglarized. The back door frame was broken. Tool marks on the frame and door were consistent with someone using a crow bar or a claw hammer type tool to gain entry. Over $2000 dollars’ worth of assorted furniture, including two heaters were missing.
Friday, December 23, 2022 at 3:07pm: Paris Police Officer spoke with a complainant who advised that earlier this date he was going through his online checking account and noticed a transaction for $487.36, which he did not recognize. Complainant went to his bank in the 600 block of Clarksville Street and was shown footage of two individuals cashing two checks in the drive through. Complainant recognized one of the two individuals as someone that works for him. Two Offenses of “Stealing Receiving Stolen Check” and one Offense of “Forgery Financial Instrument” are now being investigated.
Friday, December 23, 2022 at 9:59pm: Paris Police Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of Stone Avenue to a burglary of a residence. Victim advised between 9:00pm-9:30pm someone had unlawfully entered her apartment, leaving no signs of forced entry; but had stolen a green Coach purse, an IPad Pro, a Mac Book Air and several Kendra Scott necklaces, all valuing over $2800 dollars. The incident will be further investigated through the apartment’s security footage.
Saturday, December 24, 2022 at 3:41pm: Paris Police Officer responded to a burglary in the 300 block of Northwest 19th Street. The complainant advised that the owner of the residence had recently been incarcerated and that he (complainant) was periodically checking on the residence during his absence. Someone had made entry into the residence and taken a red motorcycle. There are no leads at this time.
Saturday, December 24, 2022 at 8:04pm: Paris Police Officer met with a victim who stated that while in the 200 block of North Main Street he was threatened by a male passenger hanging out of a vehicle window with a gun in hand. The male driver and male passenger would both exit the vehicle, each with a gun in hand. The victim opened his trunk and said he was getting his gun. The two suspects put their guns on the ground and said they wanted to fight. The victim doesn’t know why they wanted to fight; but wanted the incident documented in case there are future issues.
Sunday, December 25, 2022 at 7:58pm: Paris Police Officer was dispatched to a security check in the 3900 block of Bonham Street that resulted into an investigation of an offense of an Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon wherein a victim alleged that he was hit by a vehicle driven by a known suspect. The store provided surveillance footage of the incident.
Monday, December 26, 2022 at 11:15am: Paris Police Officer responded to a burglary of a motor vehicle call in the 2200 block of East Price Street. Two victims advised that their vehicles had been broken into. One victim was only missing her debit card. The other victim was not missing any items today; however he told the officer that his vehicle was also entered last month and he now believes that is when his black Ruger .380 pistol was stolen.
Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at 2:42am: Officer made a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 500 block of Southeast 17th Street for an expired registration. Driver, 48-year-old Clifton Michael Barlow of Paris was checked and returned wanted on three “Class C” Paris Police traffic warrants. Barlow consented to a vehicle search, leading officer to a loaded syringe containing methamphetamine. Barlow was booked into the Paris Jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance-State Jail Felony and three “Class C” traffic warrants.
From Thursday, December 22, 2022 through Monday, December 26, 2022: The Paris Police Department responded to 311 calls for service and arrested 10 adult persons.
