Mon. Dec. 16 at 10:07am; a Paris Officer went to the 2100 block of East Cherry Street to serve two separate felony warrants on 46-year-old Kaugena Lucette Bills and made contact with Bills at her front door. Bills was placed under arrest on the two felony warrants: both for Theft of Property <$2500/with two or more previous convictions. One warrant resulted from an incident that occurred in October, in the 3800 block of Lamar Avenue, where Bills had stolen a fleece jacket and several Downey Unstopables laundry booster beads and the second warrant resulted from an incident in November, in the 2600 block of Lamar where Bills had stolen bleach and more laundry detergent. Bills was booked into the Paris Jail.
Mon. Dec. 16 at 6:34pm; Paris Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of SE 7th Street in reference to a criminal mischief. A boyfriend told officers that he and his girlfriend had been involved in a verbal altercation earlier in the day and that their disagreements had escalated to the girlfriend keying his vehicle, damaging the paint, to what the boyfriend estimated to be approximately $3500 dollars’ worth of damage to his vehicle. A felony criminal mischief report was taken for further investigation.
Tues. Dec. 17 at 1:12am; a grey Chevy SUV was noticed by a Paris Officer, parked in the 1600 block of North Main Street at a gas station. The officer recognized the driver of the vehicle as 38-year-old John Michael Daniels and knew Daniels to have multiple outstanding warrants from the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office. A traffic stop was conducted in the general area. Daniels was detained and taken into custody without incident on two separate felony bond surrender warrants for Aggravated Assault w/ Deadly Weapon and one Class “A” bond surrender warrant for Assault Causes Bodily Injury / Family Violence. Both felony warrants linked back to an incident, in September, that occurred in the 2400 block of Simpson Street, where Daniels had intentionally struck a vehicle with two occupants inside, with his vehicle. The Class “A” incident occurred in July, in the 2600 block of North Main, where Daniels had physically assaulted one of the same victims of the felony incident.
Mon. Dec. 16, 2024: The Paris Police Department responded to 46 Calls for Service, made 6 Adult Arrest, and Initiated 9 Traffic Stops.
