The Paris Police Department is celebrating the two year anniversary of their police dog, K9 Cupa.

Cupa, with his handler Officer Jeff Padier, started working the streets together on September 19th, 2016.

The Paris Police Department shared a little of what the duo have done over the past two years on their Facebook page.

“286 Drug Arrests by Cupa and Jeff (72 of those were only because of Cupa’s open-air sniff and alert), 20 assists to other law enforcement agencies in our area, several suspects taken into custody just by Cupa announcing his presence with his ‘voice’, a few suspects were physically taken into custody by Cupa.”

Over the past two years, Cupa has also had a couple of minor injuries and has been assaulted by one suspect.

“Lots of training time and lots of interactions with our citizens at various community functions. We congratulate Cupa on his two-year service mark, along with Jeff, who has been there every 4 steps of the way. Usually holding a very soggy tennis ball.”

Congratulations Cupa and THANK YOU for your service.
