Ella Ruth Clanton, 87, of Paris

Ella Ruth Clanton, 87, of Paris, passed away Monday, September 17, 2018, at Legend Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.

Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20th, at the Evergreen Chapel. The family will receive friends at the Evergreen Chapel thirty minutes prior to the service.

Ella, the daughter of Roy & Bessie Weikel Clanton, was born April 13, 1931, in Paris. She graduated from Paris High School in 1949. Following graduation, she attended Dallas Bible Institute where she graduated in two years. From there Ella moved to Louisiana for 35 years. She worked for the state of Louisiana five years and was a church organist and pianist for thirty-five years. In 1989, she returned to Paris and began working for Kwik Kopy until 2002. She played the organ at Faith Presbyterian Church for a number of years and played the pipe organ at First Presbyterian Church from 2006-2012. She attended First Baptist Church where she was a member of the Adult II Sunday School Department.

Ella was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers; Roy Leslie Clanton, George Clanton, and David Clanton.

Survivors include four nephews; David Alan Clanton, Mark Clanton, Lynn Clanton, and Lee Clanton, a niece, Jane Clanton, and a host of friends including special friends, Pat Bazzani and Jeff Faber.
