Cynthia Ann Smith, 85 of the Glory Community, passed away Friday, February 22, 2019, at her home.

Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 2nd, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Royce Dickey officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 -7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Cynthia, the daughter of Clyde & Ruby Phipps Smith, was born March 9, 1933, in southern Lamar County near Rockford.

She attended Liberty School and Cunningham School. On July 9, 1949, she married Aubrey Paul Smith, building fifty-nine years of family and memories before his death on Sept. 7, 2008.

She worked at Gordon’s Meat Market in Taylortown and at Hollywood Vasarette. In later years, she worked at several local grocery stores doing demonstrations.

Cynthia was a member of the United Pentecostal Church.

Other than her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers; John Oscar Smith & his wife Gertrude, Donald Smith, and Larry Smith, a sister-in-law, Cecelia Smith and two brothers-in-law, James Plott and Sammy Yancey.

Survivors include four children; Connie Ann Smith of Paris, Rodney Dale Smith of Paris, Rickey Don Smith & wife Rita of Honey Grove, and Tana Michele Smith of Paris, grandchildren; Alissa Cutshall & spouse Amanda, Charlie Cutshall, Stefanie Barber & husband Danny, Andrea Weddle & husband Jon, Christina Nickols, Rhonda Segovia, Jimmy Paul Smith & wife Brooke, Jonathan Smith & wife Ashleigh, Michele Termin & husband T. J., and Cody Creighton & wife Lindsay, twenty great grandchildren, two sisters; Pauline Plott and Marie Yancey, one brother, Gene Smith, a sister-in-law, Nita Smith along with numerous nieces & nephews and a plethora of friends.

Casket bearers will be: Charlie Cutshall, Jimmy Paul Smith, Jonathan Smith, Cody Creighton, Danny Barber, Stephen Jones, Jon Weddle and T. J. Termin. Her granddaughters will serve as honorary bearers.
