The gears never stop turning at the Paris Junior College Department of Drama and they are back once again with their 5th Annual New Works Festival Pyro Playfest “The Winds of Change” which is the fourth and final production in the Paris Junior College Department of Drama’s “Season of the Elements.”

This PJC production takes place on The Duane Allen Stage in the Ray E. Karrer Theatre on the main Paris Junior College campus in Paris, Texas.

Show times are April 25 and 26 at 7:30 p.m. and April 27 and 28 at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

General admission is: $15, tickets for seniors and children under 18 are $10, and only $5 with the donation of a new Children’s or Teen’s book for local Charities; FREE for Paris Junior College Students, Faculty, and Staff.

This production has some minor adult themes and language. Seating is extremely limited, and reservations are highly encouraged.

Reservations can be made by e-mail at pjcdrama@parisjc.edu

Seating limited to 75 seats per performance. Any unclaimed reservations will be released 15 minutes prior to curtain time.

In this production, representing the element of “Air,” twelve short One-Act plays of varying genres will be presented in a repertory style. You can see six of the twelve in a single performance or see all twelve by attending two performances.

The playwrights this year range from residents of the Greater Paris Area to residing as far away as New Zealand!

Each play either incorporates the literal element of air or wind in some way or represents the broader theme of change.

The Festival Director for “The Winds of Change” is PJC’s very own William L. Walker and individual directors will also be featured for the separate One-Act plays, some of which will be PJC’s very own students, the likes of which include Gisselle Benitez, Lucas Rolf, and Raden Philips. Gisselle Benitez and Raden Philips are both in their sophomore year at Paris Junior College.

“There are going to be some super funny shows and then we have some really serious and hard-hitting shows. If you come, you’re going to experience everything from laughter and joyous moments to hard-hitting reality moments,” said Philips when asked about what to expect from “The Winds of Change”.
