Paris ISD students placed 1st in the 2019-2020 Lamar County Soil and Water Conservation District (LSWCD) Region IV Poster and Essay Contest. The theme that the students addressed was, Where would we BEE without Pollinators.
In the essay contest, Paris High School 2020 senior Coleman Lewis won 1st place in the 14-18 age division. Lewis placed in the top two in his division last year to be eligible to advance. Lewis is currently attending Texas A&M at College Station.
In the poster contest, Justiss Elementary 4th grade student Giselle Rios was awarded 1st place. Rios was presented a plaque from Karla Joyce LSWCD. As a 3rd grader Rios placed in the top three in the 2nd – 3rd grade division.
The theme local students will be addressing this year is, Healthy Forests = Healthy Communities
