Eight students from Stone Middle School competed in the Jr. Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE) competition on March 24 at Redwater ISD.  VASE is similar to competing in UIL only it’s in art.

The participants chose what they wanted to create and the medium used to accomplish their goal.  Those receiving superior ratings are Makayla Burton, Rebecca Dueck, Bianca Packard, Chelsey Padier, Audrey Raymond, and Lupita Wolf.  Receiving excellent ratings are Yasmine Enloe and Maddie McClain.

Stone art instructor Ashley Bryan said, “At the event, each student presented their work to a judge and spoke about the meaning, subject matter elements and principles of art as well as technique in their work.”

This was the first year for Frank Stone Middle School to attend Jr. VASE.
