Paris Independent School District is proud to announce that longtime athletic trainer Chad Helberg has been selected as a 2026 Hall of Honor inductee by the East Texas Athletic Trainers Association.
Helberg, who has been a member of the association for 30 years, is also recognized as one of the founding members of the East Texas Athletic Trainers Association. He will be honored during the organization’s Hall of Honor ceremony on June 1 at Tempest Golf Club following the association’s scholarship tournament.
Throughout his career, Helberg has dedicated himself to the health, safety, and well-being of countless student-athletes. His leadership and commitment to athletic training have impacted not only Paris ISD students but also the athletic training profession across East Texas.
“Chad’s passion for caring for students and supporting athletics has made a tremendous difference in the lives of so many young people over the years,” said Paris ISD Superintendent Althea Dixon. “This recognition is incredibly well deserved, and we are proud to celebrate this honor with him.”
Helberg has long been a familiar and trusted presence on the sidelines for Wildcat athletics, serving athletes through injuries, recovery, prevention, and overall sports medicine care. His dedication behind the scenes has played an important role in the success and safety of Paris ISD athletic programs for decades.
Paris ISD congratulates Chad Helberg on this outstanding achievement and thanks him for his years of service to Wildcat student-athletes and the East Texas athletic community.
