News circulated earlier this week that Dollar Tree Inc. is closing up to 390 Family Dollar stores this year and rebranding about 200 others under the Dollar Tree name.

However, according to employees, the two stores in Paris won’t be on the chopping block.

Dollar Tree spokeswoman Kayleigh Painted stated in an email to the Herald Journal, “We have not shared a listing of stores that will, or may, close.”

While nothing is certain, employees believe being high-volume stores they won’t be closing down.

They did say that we could see some changes at the current stores, located at 650 Bonham Street and 1505 Clarksville Street, including upgrades and expanded inventory.

Dollar Tree Inc., which bought out the Family Dollar business in 2015, announced it will close 390 Family Dollar stores over the next year. Another 200 stores will be rebranded as Dollar Tree stores, while the remaining stores will adopt a new model, begin selling “adult beverages” and/or receive an upgraded and expanded freezer/refrigeration sections.
