Summer may still be a ways away but mark your calendars now for Paris’ biggest summer event…the 2019 Paris Balloon & Music Festival.
Festival & Balloon Glow will be held in the evenings of July 19th and 20th while locals can watch the balloons launch the mornings of July 20th and 21st at the Lamar County Fairgrounds.
This Paris Balloon and Music Association, formed by the Paris Area Arts Alliance and the Paris Blues Society, is also being introduced this year.
The new organization is composed of board members from the two parent organizations and will continue in the same commitment to the enrichment of the arts in our community through artistic events, scholarships, and benefits. The “parent organizations” originally envisioned and organized the Paris Balloon and Music Festival in 2016.
“We hope you will join with us in planning an exciting family event for Paris and Lamar County,” said committee members.
The festival will include all of Lamar County’s favorite vendors and food truck vendors with options like BBQ, corn dogs, lemonade, funnel cakes, snow cones and so, so much more.
The festival is a huge opportunity for community volunteers to participate and help serve one of Paris’ biggest festivals.
“We are looking for volunteers for 2019 to help before, during and after the event. They provide guest services, balloon coordination, and safety, set-up and logistics. The variety of needs allows just about any person, with any skills, talents or interests, to experience the Balloon Festival from a new perspective.”
