Just when we thought food/condiment combinations couldn’t get any weirder, Oscar Mayer releases an ice cream sandwich that we aren’t racing to the store to try.
Last week. French’s released mustard-flavored ice cream (which was odd enough), but now Oscar Mayer has upped the ante with the announcement of its hot dog-infused ice cream sandwich.
The company took to Twitter on August 1, taking a jab at French’s saying, “Who eats just mustard @Frenchs? Condiments were made for Oscar Mayer hot dogs. Say hello to the Oscar Mayer Ice Dog Sandwich.”
And so, the hot-dog flavored ice cream sandwich was released.
The Ice Dog Sandwich features hot-dog-flavored ice cream with a spicy mustard gelato that is sandwiched between bun-colored cookies. The hot-dog-flavored ice cream is a sweet cream infused with real candied hot dog bits and is said to taste just like an Oscar Mayer wiener.
The company tweeted that begining this week, it will be offering New York City residents a chanceto try the Ice Dog Sandwich.
