The culinary team from North Lamar Independent School District (NLISD) showcased their exceptional talent and passionĀ for culinary arts in their inaugural competition at Grayson College.
With students competing in both Savory and Sweet categories, the NLISD Culinary Team left a lasting impression on judges and spectators alike.
In the Sweet category, Itzel Aguilar demonstrated her culinary prowess with her delectable creation of Strawberry, Chocolate, and Nutella Turnovers. Her innovative twist on this classic dessert captivated the taste buds of all who sampled it.
In the Savory competition, the following students showcased their culinary skills:
Tyler Fisher: Spicy Lemon Chicken with glazed carrots and wild rice
Abraham Gonzalez: Chicken Kurma
Colbyn Sulsar: Chicken Carbonara with fresh sauce
Jade Ashley: Chicken Alfredo with fresh sauce
William Trenchard: Chicken Croquettes with Potato batons and a hot honey sauce
Wiley Quillen: Chicken and Waffles
Despite being their first competition, the NLISD Culinary Team exhibited professionalism, creativity, and dedication to their craft.
Their commitment to excellence was evident in every dish they presented.
As a token of appreciation for their participation and outstanding performance, all students received a $100 scholarship to attend Grayson College Culinary Arts program. This recognition underscores NLISD’s commitment to nurturing and supporting culinary talent within its student body.
The competition at Grayson College provided invaluable experience and growth opportunities for the NLISD Culinary Team, setting a high standard for future endeavors in the culinary world.
