On Jan. 30 at 8:41 p.m., an officer was dispatched to back up an officer from another agency in the 900 block of Clarksville St. Upon arrival the officer made contact with an officer from the Texas DPS who was in an encounter with two males, one of whom was Darnell Mayfield (63) Mayfield was found to have outstanding municipal warrants and was taken into custody. Mayfield had prescriptions in his possession that he did not have proof of a prescription for. He was subsequently charged with Possession of a Dangerous Drug.
On Jan. 30 at 10:54 p.m., officers responded to a traffic accident in the 500 block of NW Loop 286. A witness reported that someone had struck a guard rail at the location and left the scene. There was severe damage to the guard rail and paperwork was in the area linking the accident to Richard Pendleton with an address on 17th NE in Paris. Officers went to the listed address for Pendleton and observed a vehicle at the address displaying severe front end damage. The officer made contact with Richard Davis Pendleton (37). Pendleton was found to be intoxicated. He was taken into custody and charged with DWI. It was later found that Pendleton had been convicted on 3 previous occasions for DWI and the charge was enhanced to DWI 3rd or More, a felony. Pendleton was also charged with Failure to report (Duty on Striking Fixture/ Highway Landscape over 200.00 damage)
On Jan. 30 at 6:37 p.m.. officers received a report of an alarm at a business in the 900 block of N. Mains St. The building was found to have damage to a window, allowing access to the building. The owner was notified and arrived. Building was cleared and it was found that an unknown suspect broke a window and gained access to the building. Owner could find nothing missing. Investigation is ongoing.
On Jan. 30 at 9:34 p.m., officers were notified of theft that had occurred in the 600 block of Bonham St. A juvenile suspect had entered the store, knocked down a glass case and had stolen several vape pens. The juvenile then left, returned and assaulted the owner then took more of the pens. The suspect was identified by the officer from in store video. The officer went the the suspect’s residence, recovered some of the property and took the juvenile into custody. He was charged with Robbery, a Felony. The same juvenile suspect had been involved in a similar incident of theft in the 200 block of N. Main that same day. Juvenile probation was notified and instructed officers to release the suspect back to a parent.
