Students at North Lamar Intermediate laced up their sneakers and raced to the finish line during the much-anticipated Annual Turkey Trot today. Children in grades 2-5 competed in grade-level races around the school, with excitement and energy filling the air. The first boy and girl to cross the finish line in each grade were awarded a turkey for their Thanksgiving dinner.
When 2nd grade winner Kaden Michael was asked, “Did you know you are the fastest kid in 2nd grade?” he confidently replied, “Well, my mom told me I better win that turkey, so I had to be quick.”
Beyond the races, students enjoyed a fun-filled day with bounce houses and refreshing sno cones provided by Kona Ice, making the event memorable for everyone.
Special thanks go to principal Angela Compton and PE coach Christy Crawford, along with assistants Regina Whisenhunt and Dana Sadler, for their hard work in organizing this fantastic event for the students.
