Norma Jean (Jeannie) Blackburn passed from this earth on March 2, 2024. Jean, 94, was born in Paris, Texas to Harold and Elizabeth Reeder. Graveside services are scheduled for Monday, March 11, 1:00PM in the Evergreen Cemetery Pavilion.
Jean was born in Paris, Texas and graduated from Paris High School. Her husband, Ira Dodson Blackburn was a banker .They lived in Paris, Amarillo and Dallas, Texas. She was a homemaker and helped her husband in their packaging business in the Dallas Trade Mart. She was a beautiful woman in every way. She loved her large family, especially the get togethers with her sisters, brother and their families .She shared many happy memories of growing up in Paris. She and Ira enjoyed traveling and cruises. Her mother- in-law, Brown Coleman, would often join them. Jean had beautiful smile and loved to laugh especially with her son, Mike. They had a very close relationship. “Mamie “also had a very close relationship with her first grandson, Trey Moore. She was like a second mother to him.
Jean spent her last two years in Ft.Worth. Mike and Debra, her daughter in law, loved bringing joy, comfort and care to her life. She was very loved.
We would like to thank her caregivers, “The Shugas”, as she called them; Heather, Chazz and Teela for all their prayers, help and love. We would also like to thank her neighbors in Dallas, Dow and Sue Sollenga for being there for Jean and us with all their lovimg presence and support. Beth Anderson, thank you for being Jean’s best friend and a great help for many years to Jean and to me. You brought much joy
Jean is survived by her two children: Mike Blackburn (Debra) and Cathy Moore (Fred): five grandchildren, Trey Moore, Mollye Erikson, Coleman Blackburn, Bret Blackburn and Taylor Fields :nine great-grandchildren: Ben Blackburn, Georgia Blackburn, Addy Blackburn, Brady Blackburn ,Coulter Moore, Wills Moore and Owen Erikson, Charley Fields and Sully Fields : one sister, Marylyn Nall; one brother, Bill Reeder ( Andrea) and many loving nieces and nephews.
