Who doesn’t love reading a feel-good story? Especially when it involves the two local officers going above and beyond the call of duty.
Paris Police Officer Johnny Bangs alongside Pct. 3 Constable Steven Hill came to the aid of a local woman after her bathroom flooded unexpectedly.
“I happened to be in the area when the call came through, so I decided to see if I could help,” Hill said.
Even though he was there, Hill said it was officer Bangs that did the work.
“He [Bangs] figured out it was part of the float valve on the toilet and knew it was an easy fix.”
Hill explained that the woman had the part that required replacing, so Bangs was able to get the job finished quickly.
“From my understanding, the woman had attempted to phone for help before calling 911. We were more than happy to help her out,” Hill said.
Both officers mopped up as much as they could in the flooded bathroom and set a fan to help dry the area as best they could before leaving.
