NL Homecoming set for Friday Theme: “To Victory and Beyond”

Homecoming Week at North Lamar will be September 17-21 with the Panthers taking on the Jefferson Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. at R. L. Maddox Stadium on Friday night.

Pregame activities include the crowning of the 2018 Homecoming Queen at 7:00 p.m.

Students at every campus may participate in the week’s daily dress themes.  Themes include Monster University Monday, dress as your favorite Monster Inc. character or college attire; Toy Story Tuesday – Woody vs. Buzz, cowboy up or get out your favorite space gear; Wonderful World of Sports Wednesday, wear your favorite sports jersey; Moana Thursday, Hawaiian attire; and Spirit Day Friday, wear blue and gold.

The Homecoming King will be announced during the pep rally beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the NLHS gym on Friday.  Following at 10:00 a.m., the court will be the guests of honor in the Homecoming parade as it meanders through the North Lamar campus.  First, second, and third place trophies will be given to the top floats in the parade and a traveling spirit trophy will be given to the group showing the most spirit. Guests are welcomed to attend the Homecoming festivities and will best view the parade from the football parking lot.

A reception for all North Lamar alumni will be from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. in the Stone Middle School cafeteria.  All are welcomed and encouraged to attend.

The North Lamar Athletic Booster Club will host a barbecue dinner for five dollars in the football parking lot beginning at 6:00 p.m.  The meal includes a sandwich, chips, drink and dessert.  Proceeds will go toward scholarships.
