The Plaza Art Gallery is getting ready to welcome new members with their latest show being held on Nov 15.
The night will run from 5-8 p.m., with party food and drinks available for all to who attend.
Three new members work will be featured on the night; Roger Brown, Derrick Brown and Chris Gies .
Gies grew up in Paris and only moved away during his college years before returning to his home town, retiring in 2015.
Gies is also an avid outdoorsman who enjoys fishing, hunting and just sitting amongst the scenery watching the world move by.
For many years the self-taught photographer enjoyed learning how to “point and shoot” the camera. Upon retirement, he decided to update his photography knowledge and equipment to the digital era.
Thus, Gies enrolled in a course at PJC. He learned technical skill sets from Marvin Gorley, which helped him produce is optimum creative interpretations of what he was wanting to capture through the lens.
Now ready to showcase his work alongside fellow new members of the local Art Gallery, the public is encouraged to head down to 8 W Plaza and view all the new artworks while conversing with fellow art lovers.
