The National Weather Service has confirmed the tornado that blew through the western part of Lamar County Tuesday morning as an EF-2.
Tracked from Petty to Hopewell, the Tuesday tornado brought with it winds of up to 115 mph, leaving behind it damaged buildings, but only minor injuries.
Shortly after 10 a.m. on Tuesday, the Tornado Warning was issued countywide with reports of a tornado spotted moving towards the area from Fannin County.
Officials in the Fannin County area reported one resident was transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries and an unconfirmed number of homes either damaged or destroyed.
The National Weather Service confirmed an EF-1 tornado touched down near Wolfe City, bringing in abut 90 mph winds, and another EF-2 tornado was tracked from Blue Ridge to Leonard, bringing in up to 125 mph winds.
According to the national weather service as of 6 p.m. Wednesday, Northeast Texas witnessed 14 tornadoes.
