The Texas District of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association (GWRRA) will roll into Paris next week for their annual motorcycle rally.

The rally will be taking place Thursday, May 16th through Saturday, May 18th at the Love Civic Center.

Organizers said they expect over 150 motorcyclists will be riding the roads of Paris, eating at our restaurants, staying in our hotels and shipping in our stores.

Every year the Texas Chapters of GWRRA get together for safety training and to share a time of fun and games with riders across the state; living up to their motto, “Friends for fun, safety, and knowledge.”

“This year, rally participants will be shopping downtown on Friday from 5-8:30 p.m.,” said event organizers.  “Following the merchant visit, there will be free bike light show at 8:30 p.m. on the square, followed by a light parade ending at South Main Iron.”

Locals will be able to stop by the Love Civic Center on Saturday where there will be a bike/trike challenge from 1 to 4 p.m. In the north parking lot.

Additionally, there will be a Share the Road “No Zone” demonstration on the 17th and 18th from 8am-4 pm.

Share the Road is a highway safety program of the American Trucking Associations (ATA). Since 1986, this program has been teaching the public how to share the road with large trucks.

Million-mile accident-free professional truck drivers deliver specific life-saving safety tips.

At this rally, motorcycles, cars, and trucks will be set up in the Love Civic Center parking lot to simulate highway lanes that show the common ways in which accidents happen out on the road.

The program’s goal is to reach as many people as possible and change driving behavior so that we can save lives.

Day passes to the rally are available for only $15.00 each day.

The public is invited to attend.
