A 52-year-old female motorcyclist lost her life Wednesday afternoon after a vehicle accident in the 4200 block of Lamar Ave., near Cave Wave just past PetCo.
At about 11:45 a.m., Paris Police Department responded to the 4200 block of Lamar Avenue in response to the accident. According to police, the motorcycle was headed eastbound in the 4100 block of Lamar Avenue, and a pick-up pulling a trailer was westbound in the 4200 block.
“The pick-up attempted to turn left as the motorcycle was attempting to travel through the intersection,” said Paris Police Informations Officer Curtis Garrett. “The (motorcyclist) struck the trailer and was ejected from the motorcycle.”
The motorcyclist was transported to Paris Regional Medical Center, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
As the accident remains under investigation, the name of the deceased has not been released at this time.
