East Post Oak Missionary Baptist Church in Blossom has organized a GoFundMe page for the Ligon family whose home was lost in a fire earlier this week.
“East Post Oak is a very small community and we are trying to get any help for them that we can so their lives can be returned to some form of normal. Please keep this family in your prayers,” the organizers said. “If you can’t help financially, please share the link.”
According to Novice VFD, the Nov. 30 call originated as a grass fire but turned into two, fully-involved structure fires.
The family was able to get out of the homes safely with just what they had on. Everything in the homes were lost, and there was no insurance to help the family get back on their feet, according to the church.
The GoFundMe’s goal is $3,000.
Fire departments that responded to the call included:
- Novice VFD
- Faught VFD
- Reno VFD
- Powderly VFD
- Blossom VFD
- Pine Creek VFD
- East Post Oak VFD and
- Detroit VFD
