A truck carting a single wide demountable home lost its roof as the driver rolled under the underpass on the NW Loop 286 in front of the Campbells Soup factory this afternoon.
The driver said they had picked up the structure from Tyler and were on their way to deliver in Broken Bow, OK. He said he had attempted to stop the truck when he realized the height of his cargo wouldn’t fit but was unsuccessful.
The Louisiana driver also states that he was glad there was no immediate traffic behind him where other motorists could have been hurt.
No word from authorities if any citations were given or comment on the incident.
Both the driver and his pilot car are now waiting to be cleared before heading back on the road.
Traffic is down to one lane traveling east bound as authorities work to clear the scene
