The Martin Luther King Jr. Day parade is set for Saturday, Jan. 15.
The parade honoring the late Martin Luther King Jr. will start lining up at 10:30 a.m. near the corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and 20th St. N.E.
This year’s theme for the parade is “Everybody can be great because everybody can serve Dr. Martin L. King.”
The parade itself will start at about 11 a.m., and travel down Martin Luther King Jr. Drive toward Fitzhugh Ave. The participants will then turn onto Tudor Street and travel down Tudor toward 3rd St. N.E. They will take another left just before moving onto Lamar Ave., where they will then turn right onto N. Main and another right onto Fitzhugh, where the parade will come to an end.
Just after the parade, the organization will recognize community workers. Chicken, waffles, pork chops, pancakes, rice and drinks will also be available.
