Miriam Lee Simpson, 92, of Powderly, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Brentwood Terrace Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.
Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 19th at the Pavilion of Red Hill Cemetery with Rev. Mel Murphy and Rev. Bergie Thompson officiating. The family will receive friends at the pavilion thirty minutes prior to the service.
Mrs. Simpson, the daughter of Bill Simpson and Idabell Sutton Simpson, was born Oct. 20, 1932, in Arthur City, TX. She graduated from Chicota Schools. Upon graduation she moved to Dallas where she worked a number of years for Southwestern Bell Telephone. Miriam then began a career with Texas Instruments where she retired. She was a member of the Arthur City Baptist Church and was an avid bowler.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Narvin Simpson, a son, Jimmy Simpson, a daughter-in-law, Suzette Simpson, and a sister, Ruth Cass.
Survivors include three children, Ricky Simpson, Vicki Dees and husband Mack, and David Simpson and wife Kay, grandchildren, Stephanie Kiraly and husband Matt, Kayla Simpson, Brandon Kearney and Amanda, Josh Kearney and wife Heather, Jeremy Simpson and wife Robbie, Erik Kendall and wife Amanda, and Keri Kendall, numerous great grandchildren and two sisters, Wanda Edelhauser and Kay Powers along with a number of nieces and nephews.
Casket bearers will be: David Simpson, Jeremy Simpson, Brandon Kearney, Josh Kearney, Erik Kendall, and Matt Kiraly.
