Merl Clovis Reed, 95, of Paris, left this world for his Heavenly home on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018.

Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled graveside services for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8th, at Meadowbrook Gardens with Rev. Steve Gunter officiating. Those wishing to pay respects may do so at the funeral home through Wednesday morning.

Mr. Reed, the son of Hollje & Anna Reed, was born July 31, 1923, in Oklahoma.

He was honorably discharged from the United States Army after serving in World War II. His career at B & W spanned thirty-five years before his retirement. Merl was a faithful & active member of Immanuel Baptist Church. He loved the outdoors, camping, building things, and tinkering in his shop.

On Feb. 9, 1946, he married Virginia Bell Miller, building seventy-one years of family and memories before her death on Nov. 29, 2017. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Weldon Love, Jr., two brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include a daughter, Wilma Love, grandchildren; Sue Parr, Holly Ann Henderson, Kelly Love, and Kristi Love, great-grandchildren; Anna Love, Bethany Love, Brittany Thompson, Jordon Love, Morgan Lamb-Drake, Baydom Lamb and Emily Love, two great-great-grandchildren, Samson Mejia and Aleczander Cutshall along with several nieces & nephews and a host of friends.

He was “Grandad” to many and will be missed greatly by his loving family.
