Marla Gay (McDowra) Davis, 58, of Cunningham, passed away Friday, Feb. 2, 2024, at her home.
Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4th at the Pavilion of Restland Cemetery in Cunningham with Rev. Frankie Norwood officiating.
Marla, the daughter of Marlin Earl McDowra & Nora Lee Anderson, was born March 19, 1965, in Lubbock, TX.
She graduated from Prairiland High School in 1983. Her career as an English teacher at Prairiland Junior High School spanned a number of years before her retirement.
She enjoyed gardening and working in her yard, which was always immaculate. Marla loved hosting meals with her family and spending time with her grandchildren who were the joys of her life.
She was preceded in death by her father, Marlin McDowra and her step-father, Jimmy White.
Survivors include her husband, Wesley Davis, her mother, Nora McDowra White of Cunningham, siblings, Jeff McDowra & wife Teena and Bobbie Murray & husband Sam, children, Kati Nation & husband Dakota of Cunningham and Trent Evans & wife Lauren of Paris, step-daughters, Leslie Davis of Cunningham and Nikki Campbell & husband Justin of Destin, FL, and grandchildren, Lela Campbell, Trenton Coleman, Anderson Nation and Liv Nation along with several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins and a plethora of friends.
Casket bearers will be: O’Neal Drinnon, Kyle Penwell, Heath Sessums, Dooley Morgan, Matthew Davis & Charlie Davis.
In lieu of flowers, it would have been Marla’s wish that memorials be made to your local school library.
