Janice Kay Anderson, 71, passed away on January 30, 2024, in Paris, Texas. She was born on September 8, 1952, to Loreen and James Thompson, in Dallas, TX. She was a beloved wife, a loving mother to Brandon McMeans and Eric Hemphill, and a cherished sibling to her two brothers, John and James and sister Gerladine and a favorite aunt.
She graduated in 1971 from Southlake Carroll High School. She worked in various management and customer service roles for Supreme, Rockbestos, and Edward Jones, where she made significant contributions and earned the respect of many of her colleagues, whom she called friends.
Known for her infectious laugh, quick wit and sense of humor, Jan touched the lives of all that knew her and were always welcomed with a warm smile and good food! Jan was an amazing cook and enjoyed traveling, scrapbooking and was a veracious reader.
Jan is survived by her spouse Alan Anderson of 40 years; sons, Brandon McMeans and Eric Hemphill and a granddaughter, Samantha Hemphill. Her memory will be cherished by her extended family, nieces, nephews, and countless friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Loreen and James Thompson; and sister Geraldine.
The memorial service to celebrate Jan Anderson’s life will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at 10:00 am at Bright-Holland Funeral Home Chapel, 2601 Lamar Ave., Paris, TX. Friends and family are invited to join and share their memories of her. Visitation will be held at Bright-Holland Funeral Home on Sunday, February 4, 2024, from 2-4 pm with food and fellowship gathering from noon to 2 pm at 720 Medalist, Paris. Pallbearers will be Alex Anderson, Cody Chappel, Brandon McMeans, Dre Wong, Logun Liening and Kyle Campbell.
