Maddoc Ranger Applegate, 14 “Our Gentle Giant” of Paris, passed away July 7, 2026.
A funeral service has been set for Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 3:00 PM at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home with Mary Yoder officiating. Interment will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Fannin County. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Maddoc was born in Paris, Texas on June 26, 2012 to Michael, Sr. and Christi Applegate. He attended Chisum Junior High School. He played football, was active in the band program and loved to read in his spare time. Maddoc attended Pathway Church of God. He never met a stranger and brought a smile to any room.
He is survived by his mother, Christi Applegate; siblings, Dakota Lindsey and wife Ciera, Michael Applegate, Jr., Misek Applegate; nephew, Roper Lindsey; niece, Zoey Lindsey; grandmothers, Anita Starkey, Pamela Nicholson; aunts and uncles, Ashlee Myers and Daniel Ray Lee, Jennifer Thomas, Amy Lawrence, Steven Barnett; great uncle, Terry Barnett; great-aunt, Sherry Carlisle; special cousins, Mazee Myers, Paitun Myers, Talin Myers, Garrit Faulkner, Rudy Applegate, Gavin Thomas, Jacob Thomas; numerous extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Ray Applegate, Sr., grandfathers, Mickey Applegate, Randy Barnett; great-grandparents, Hazel and Thomas Nicholson, Ethel Johnson, Donald Starkey; great- aunt, Donna Starkey; cousin, Jaelynn Myers; uncle, Wayne Myers, Jr.
