Paris police on Monday arrested Rodney Sherman Willis, of Paris, after he confessed to being the driver in the fatal hit-and-run on Sept. 29.
Shortly before 11 a.m., Willis was stopped in the 400 block of Bonham Street for a traffic violation and was found to be driving with an expired Drivers License, which he did not have.
He was arrested for Failure to Display License.
Willis was also a suspect in the incident of Leaving the Scene of an Accident Resulting Death which occurred on Sept. 29.
During the course of the investigation, it was established that Willis was in the area of the accident during the time of the incident.
The victim of the accident passed away on October 1, 2023. Willis’ vehicle was located parked behind his residence, in an apparent attempt to prevent officers from locating it.
Once in custody on the previous charge of Failure to Display License, Willis, during interview, confessed to being the driver in the fatality accident.
He was subsequently charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident Involving Death.
He was booked and taken to county jail
