A Paris boy will never forget his third birthday after receiving a special surprise from local law enforcement.

Pierce Alexander Stowers turned three-years-old on Sept. 21 and wanted nothing but a police-themed birthday party.

“He has been obsessed with cops for almost a year,” said mom Nikki Jones, “he begs to go say hi to them when we see them whether they are working, pulling people over on the side of the road or even at his older sisters high school volleyball games; he always wants to talk to them and ask them questions.”

With such a love for the boys in blue, Jones knew that having just a police-themed birthday party wasn’t enough. She wanted to give him the surprise of a lifetime.

“I reached out to one of our friends, Officer Gerry Hines, to see if he was working on the day of the party and if he would stop by,” Jones said.

Of course, Pierce expected to see his friends and family at his party, but a visit from two Paris Police Officer’s turned the party into much more than he expected.

With lights flashing as they came up the street, Hines along with Officer Jeremy Helms gave Pierce an experience he will never forget.

“He was so excited when we turned up,” said Hines. “he told me about everything on his Police belt.”

Jones said her son asked the officers a “million” questions about their gear before they took him to their patrol car and let him flip the switch to turn on the lights and sirens.

“Being an officer is more than just upholding the law, it’s about being involved with the community as well,” Hines further said, “being able to make a little boys day by just showing up is a side to this job we love.”

“I am so grateful to both Jeremy and Gerry for being so good to Pierce and making our little boy’s birthday one he will never forget,” said Jones.
