After months of fundraising, this Sunday the community will come together to separate and bag groceries to give to those in need this holiday season.

“Live Thankfully is a community service project that helps feed underprivileged kids through the Christmas Break,” explained Britney Drake who started the event with Christine Lenoir.

Last year the team exceeded expectations and were overwhelmed at how the community came together, packing over 750 grocery bags which were delivered to over 500 families.

“There is a huge need to bring our community together,” said Drake, “this food drive is different from others, you just don’t know if the person packing groceries next to you could be a recipient.”

“It’s where a community comes together, and we, as parents, have the opportunity to teach our kids to be servants and to give back to our community. It also teaches them always to be grateful for what they have, but to recognize when someone is in need,” added Lenoir.

This Sunday, the community will come together once again to bag grocery items that will be distributed to those who need a little help this holiday season.

Everyone is invited to attend and help. There will be face painting, a bounce house, games and more for the kids to enjoy also.
